The Little Pigeon River in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of my favorite places, especially in the fall. It reminds me that I don’t have to be big to have an impact. I just have to persevere and be willing to adapt, at times being still. As a child, I spent many summers having a picnic on the big rocks, while being fascinated that it was the small, sometimes unnoticeable, jagged rocks that created the biggest ripples. That fact remains true today as an adult.
